A New Age of TV

I'm not much of a big TV fan, but when I do watch TV I have noticed that TV shows in general have gotten worse and more destructive towards children. Television producers are now more convinced in making a profit and getting as many viewers as possible, than on the health and safety of children and teens. It's frustrating and worrisome when you see children and teens looking up to Jwoww, Snooki, and other stars who live and thrive off of drama. Like Jersey Shore, many shows are now about drama that we don't need in our daily lives. In today's world, we stuff our brains with useless information from shows like Jersey Shore and Laguna Beach. As you can tell, I like watching shows that aren't filled with drama like The Office. I'm also huge fan of game shows and reality shows like American Idol and Hell's Kitchen. I don't know why I am addicted to them, but I think it's because people are competing to win an ultimate prize. I, myself, like to compete against people whether it is at school or in the pool. These shows to me are very relaxing and stress-relieving. I can forget about everything else and enjoy my favorite shows. TV is great for relaxing and enjoying time with family, but when it comes to shows with cat fights, punching, and hair-pulling I don't exactly agree on their method of producing these shows for people of all ages to watch.
